Renowned Foreigner vocalist Kelly Hansen has officially announced his absence from the band’s upcoming tour in Latin America this spring due to personal commitments. While fans may be disappointed, they can look forward to a special surprise as one of the band’s talented members will step in to fill the gap left by Hansen.
In a recent statement released through blabbermout.net, Hansen explained, “Certain issues have forced me to limit my appearances outside of the USA this year, which unfortunately means I will miss Foreigner’s South American run.” He expressed his confidence in his bandmate Luis Maldonado, who has been working on recording several of their classic hits in Spanish. Maldonado will be taking on most of the vocal duties alongside the legendary Lou Gramm, who will be making special guest appearances during these performances. Hansen concluded, “I know they will absolutely smash it!”
The anticipated tour is slated to kick off on April 28 in Mexico City. However, details regarding the specific “issues” preventing Hansen from traveling internationally remain undisclosed, leaving fans curious about his situation.

It was also announced that Hansen will not participate in the band’s shows in Canada scheduled for this coming October and November. When approached for clarification, Foreigner’s publicist stated, “Circumstances prohibit Kelly from spending too much time outside of the U.S., so he will be sitting this one out. Geordie Watt will be appearing at all shows during this tour.”
