Massive ’50’ Box Set by Rush Features Rare Early Live Tracks

Rush is set to commemorate their incredible 50th anniversary with an exciting new box set that includes seven tracks never before released, showcasing the band’s early days. This collection, titled Rush 50, is scheduled to launch on March 21 and will highlight the band’s remarkable journey starting from their debut single in 1973 all the way to their final live performance on August 1, 2015, at the iconic Inglewood Forum. Fans can expect a nostalgic trip through time, celebrating the evolution of one of the most influential rock bands in history.

The Rush 50 box set promises to deliver a comprehensive overview of the band’s extensive discography, featuring tracks that span their entire career. Is that all??seriously?it?s a cool collection?but look at all those songs,” said bassist and lead vocalist Geddy Lee in the press release announcing this impressive album. “I?m exhausted just reading the effin list!?

This highly anticipated collection will be available in five distinct formats, catering to the diverse preferences of fans: the Super Deluxe Edition, the Rush Store Exclusive Super Deluxe Edition, a 7-LP Deluxe Edition, a 4-CD Deluxe Edition, and a Digital Edition. Each version can be pre-ordered directly from the band’s official website, ensuring fans have the opportunity to secure their copy of this historic release.

Accompanying the music, the collection will feature specially designed 50th anniversary artwork by long-time collaborator Hugh Syme, along with a beautiful 104-page hardcover book that includes new illustrations, stunning photographs, and insightful liner notes from esteemed rock journalists David Fricke and Philip Wilding. As an added bonus, it will also come with a unique 100-page hardcover book titled The Fullness of Time, which features a graphic novel that captures Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson reminiscing about their storied career, providing fans with a personal glimpse into the band’s history and evolution.

For those seeking something truly special, the Rush Store Exclusive version of the Super Deluxe Edition will include everything previously mentioned, plus four additional lithographs that depict Rush through the decades. These lithographs, beautifully illustrated by Fantoons, showcase the band in the vibrant eras of the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and ’00s, encapsulating their timeless legacy and artistic journey.

Among the highlights of this collection are two songs from a pivotal performance in 1974. “The Agora Ballroom in Cleveland, that was a really important headline gig for us,” Lee shared with Classic Rock. “It was a ferocious crowd, it was a hot sweaty gig. I remember the gig really, really well. We weren?t begging for time on someone else?s show. That was our show. And one of the first headline shows with [drummer] Neil [Peart], ever. I?m glad they found some songs from that night.?
