Previous Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony sees the band’s 2007 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a skipped possibility.

Throughout an all round appear on The Hook Rocks podcast, Anthony lamented Van Halen’s inability to get with each other.

“Even when the band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” the bassist recalled. “Sammy [Hagar] and I were the only two from the band that showed up, and we were not even in the band at the time.”

Eddie Van Halen (understandably) missed the ceremony due to the reality he was in rehab, when David Lee Roth and Alex Van Halen chosen not to attend. Anthony described it as “pretty sad” that the members of Van Halen could not place apart their personal discrepancies for the Corridor of Fame induction. In the finish, he thinks it cost them the possibility to do some point unquestionably historic.

“I turned to Sammy all through the [induction] present, I fail to remember who was on stage participating in, and we ended up sitting down at our desk, and I go, ‘Sammy, could you think about if all of us, if we have been all in this article, and everyone bought alongside, and we acquired up there?’” Anthony recalled. “‘We would kick the ass out of this issue! It’d be an induction ceremony that no person would ever ignore.’ Regrettably enough, it was not to be.”

In other areas in the interview, Anthony expressed his pleasure for the Very very best of All Worlds tour, scheduled to kick off July 13 in Palm Beach, Florida. The trek will see Anthony joining forces with Hagar, Joe Satriani and Jason Bonham to provide sets full of Van Halen classics.

“Sammy and I explained, let us just let’s go out and engage in the new music,” the bassist explained. “And we’ll go up there and we will honor Eddie. And I know Joe is heading to do his greatest. He’s not trying to action into Ed’s footwear or whatever. He’s Joe Satriani. But he loves the audio. And he desires to go out there and seriously do try to do it justice in his possess way and to honor Eddie also.”
