Mimic Secrets Revealed: What We Know So Far

Five Nights at Freddy?s: Secret of the Mimic recently unveiled an exciting full trailer during the PlayStation State of Play event, showcasing a thrilling glimpse of the Fazbear-themed chaos that awaits players when the game launches in June this year. Earlier in the year, fans were treated to a brief teaser that introduced Jackie, the jack-in-the-box animatronic dressed in clown attire, notable for her exceptionally long arms. This latest trailer unveils a plethora of new animatronics, some of which have appeared in the Security Breach DLC, Ruin, while others are completely fresh additions to the franchise.

Although the beloved original quartet?Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy?were notably absent from the trailer, viewers can spot many familiar and new characters throughout. Some animatronics appear to be employees of Murrary?s Costume Manor, while others take on the roles of performers or attractions, eagerly waiting to entertain guests. Currently, it’s uncertain which characters are merely vacant suits awaiting the Mimic’s takeover and which are fully realized animatronics in their own right.

Jackie Makes a Frightening Entrance

The Jack-In-The-Box Animatronic is Unstoppable

Among all the animatronics featured in FNAF: Secret of the Mimic, Jackie has received the most extensive promotional focus, appearing in numerous materials. The initial teaser trailer for Secret of the Mimic was dedicated entirely to Jackie as she gradually emerged from her box. Given her previous appearances in other FNAF games, her design feels familiar to fans. Her long arms, coupled with her clown-inspired aesthetic, make her an unforgettable character, especially highlighted by her eerie glowing yellow eyes.

Jackie also made a brief appearance in the VR game Help Wanted 2, serving as a promotional teaser for Secret of the Mimic.

Jackie stands out as the most visually compelling animatronic and appears to serve as the primary antagonist, relentlessly pursuing the player throughout the creepy facility. While her motives for attacking the player remain shrouded in mystery, they may be linked to the titular Mimic. Throughout the trailer, Jackie?s presence looms just beyond the player?s reach, as she stretches through locked gates and emerges from oversized vents, heightening the suspense and fear.

Enigmatic Lion & Bird-Like Mascot Suits

Ominous Animal Mascots with Rich Histories

The Secret of the Mimic trailer introduces several animatronics and mascot suits, starting with the Lion suit. This character has a more extensive backstory in FNAF lore than previously hinted in teasers for Secret of the Mimic. Although the Lion did not feature in Security Breach: Ruin, he was discovered in the game files, located in the room where the Mimic resides at the conclusion of the game. In his debut appearance, the Lion stands tall with a toothy grin and wide, eager eyes, poised to spring into action at any moment.

Five Nights At Freddy’s: Secret Of The Mimic Reveals Release Date Alongside New Animatronic Horrors

Five Nights at Freddy?s: Secret of the Mimic has revealed an all-new cast of animatronics, alongside a release date. Here?s what to know.

While the lion did not make a physical appearance in that DLC, his companions, the Elephant and Crow, were seen together in that room. Another character introduced early in the trailer is a bird, though its specific identity as an animatronic has yet to be confirmed. Drawing parallels to the Ruin crow suit, this new suit has a distinctly different design. It features a spotted belly and a bill-like mouth, suggesting it could represent a duck or some similar creature.

Like the Lion, the Bird may either be an empty suit or an autonomous animatronic. Given the lack of animation in Ruin, it seems more plausible that these are mere mascot suits. However, Secret of the Mimic might reveal that the three mascots possess more complexity than initially perceived.

An Elephant Stalking the Shadows of the Facility

A Mimic or a Self-Powered Adversary?

Similar to the Lion and Bird, the Elephant is another mascot featured in Security Breach: Ruin. In a manner akin to the Bird, the Elephant appeared in the game and occupied the same room as the Mimic, enhancing the connection established by its appearance in the Secret of the Mimic trailer. The reason the Mimic possessed these mascot suits remains a mystery that Secret of the Mimic may ultimately clarify.

Visually, the Elephant is a human-sized animatronic capable of navigating the facility. As seen in the trailer, it turns to observe the player, donning a green jester costume paired with a whimsical clown hat. This could suggest that the Mimic is utilizing the Elephant suit, or it could indicate the Elephant is independently searching for the player. The Elephant?s bulging eyes make it the most menacing of the three animal mascots introduced in the trailer, a notable achievement.

The Mushroom Gnome Stalks the Halls

A Charming New Character, Yet Not So Friendly

One of the initial new animatronics showcased in the Secret of the Mimic trailer is a cheery Gnome-like figure adorned with a mushroom-shaped head. Clad in blue overalls that complement his head and a yellow scarf around his neck, the Mushroom animatronic appears in the trailer twice, with one instance likely depicting the Mimic taking on its form, thanks to its glowing orange eyes.

It seems probable that the Mushroom animatronic is not a benevolent character, as it appears to wander the halls in search of the player. Nevertheless, it does so with a lively gait reminiscent of the animatronics in Security Breach.

The Automatic Guard Bot Enters the Scene

The Night Shift Was Once Managed By Automation

Near the end of the trailer, a new guard bot is spotted, which may serve as a predecessor to the S.T.A.F.F. Bots from Security Breach, the wheeled guardians that patrolled the halls of the Fazbear Pizzaplex. This earlier model appears less mobile, featuring a cart-like base with a handle at the back for manual maneuvering.

FNAF: Security Breach Players Are Terrified Of Map Bot

Players of FNAF: Security Breach have dubbed Map Bot the scariest character in the game, sharing clips of his jumpscares across social media.

Dressed in a night guard uniform featuring a short-sleeved shirt and cap, the guard bot resembles a more humanoid figure and will likely serve as an interactive element for players during brief encounters rather than functioning as a relentless pursuer. With any luck, the classic take-a-map jumpscare could also be a feature of these older models.

A Nurse Bot Spotted in a Clinic Area

This Nurse Might Not Be Suitable for Patient Care

The most humanoid character among the newly revealed animatronics in Secret of the Mimic is the Nurse Bot. While she bears a resemblance to the Guard Bot in her humanoid form, her demeanor is far less inviting, as she lunges at the player with an erratic gait and an open mouth.

Interestingly, the Nurse’s design mirrors that of Sister Location’s Circus Baby, featuring a face constructed from separate plates that may open up in various sections. Clad in a classic teal hospital uniform topped with a white hat, her presence in a clinic hints that the facility may have once housed a functioning medical center for its human staff. However, the Nurse’s aggressive behavior in the trailer suggests she no longer embodies the nurturing qualities one would expect from a healthcare provider.

3

The Grandfather of DJ Music Man

A White-Haired Animatronic Ready to Hunt Down Intruders

The largest of the new animatronics, closely resembling an existing character in the FNAF universe, is a giant spider-like animatronic that crashes through a glass ceiling to confront the player at the trailer’s climax. This ?new? character bears a striking resemblance to DJ Music Man, the vibrant DJ from Security Breach who pursued Gregory through a memorable segment of the game. However, unlike DJ Music Man’s colorful and upbeat design, this alternative version features a subdued color palette, complete with a distinctive mustache.

What makes this giant spider-like animatronic particularly intriguing is its white mustache and curled hair, which may suggest a grandfatherly theme. Given that it breaks through the glass ceiling in pursuit of the player, it is likely that this animatronic will also engage in a chase as players navigate the eerie Murrary?s Costume Manor.

2

A Prequel Version of Vanny Emerges

The Mimic May Have Employed an Evil Bunny All Along

In a surprising twist, a figure bearing a striking resemblance to Vanny from Security Breach is briefly showcased in the trailer. While her facial structure and whiskers appear similar, the differing eye color suggests she is a distinct character.

Aside from the variation in eye color, it seems unlikely that this character is the same Vanny featured in Security Breach, as Vanny was ultimately revealed to be a human donning a suit, and this prequel is set at least fifty years before the events of Security Breach.

The Elusive Mimic Stalks the Shadows

A Cunning Animatronic Capable of Adopting Any Form

Although the titular Mimic isn’t officially unveiled in the Secret of the Mimic trailer, it likely infiltrated the scene undetected, masquerading as one of the other new costumes, such as the Mushroom Gnome or the Elephant, as it silently stalks the halls looking for the player. Initially introduced as the main antagonist in Ruin, players currently know that Fazbear Entertainment has tasked them with locating the Mimic and its proprietary technology to return it to the company.

The presence of multiple vacant suits scattered throughout the facility suggests that the Mimic may appear unexpectedly, aiming to unsettle and drive the player away. Together with the array of animatronics, the Mimic is poised to create a suspenseful atmosphere in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic.
