Morgan Wallen Walks Off ‘SNL’ Stage Before Finale

The charismatic Morgan Wallen has made a sudden exit from the stage.

On March 29, the 31-year-old country music sensation graced the stage as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, sharing the spotlight with host Mikey Madison, who recently captured the Best Actress award for her remarkable portrayal in Anora at the prestigious 2025 Oscars.

After delivering captivating performances of two tracks from his highly anticipated album, I’m the Problem, Wallen engaged with the SNL cast during the customary end-of-show segment. He leaned in to whisper something to Madison, embraced her warmly, and then unexpectedly exited the iconic Studio 8H stage.

Shortly after this surprising moment, Wallen took to his Instagram Stories, posting a photo from his private jet with a caption that read, “Get me to God’s country,” overlaying an image of the runway, hinting at his desire for a return to his roots.

Billboard has reached out to Wallen’s team for further comments regarding his abrupt departure from the show.

During his much-anticipated March 29 appearance on SNL, Wallen performed the title track from his upcoming album and followed it with the heartfelt anthem “Just in Case,” which speaks to themes of post-breakup emotions. The album, I’m the Problem, is scheduled for release on May 16, generating excitement among fans.

The talented singer-songwriter had previously graced the SNL stage in December 2020, where he performed two hit songs, “7 Summers” and “Still Goin Down,” from his acclaimed project Dangerous: The Double Album, which impressively held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for an impressive ten weeks.

Initially, Wallen was set to perform two months earlier but had to withdraw at the last minute due to a breach of SNL’s strict COVID-19 safety protocols. During his first appearance, he also participated in a comedic sketch that playfully addressed the controversy surrounding his earlier actions, where he was photographed socializing without a mask in Alabama, creating a buzz in the media.

This week’s episode of SNL follows the exciting March 8 appearance of Lady Gaga, who showcased her versatility by serving as both the host and musical guest. This season, SNL has featured a diverse lineup of musical guests, including Tate McRae, GloRilla, Hozier, Gracie Abrams, Shaboozey, Chappell Roan, and Billie Eilish, among others, making it a vibrant season for music lovers.

Looking ahead, fans can anticipate performances by Lizzo, Elton John, and Brandi Carlile in upcoming episodes hosted by the charismatic Jon Hamm and the ever-entertaining Jack Black, promising to deliver more memorable moments on the beloved show.
