In a recent conversation with PEOPLE, the 51-year-old actress reflected on her memorable experiences while filming Say Anything, particularly her on-screen chemistry with John Cusack, which has intrigued fans for decades.

Skye shared that, although there was mutual attraction during their time on set, they never took their feelings further at that time. However, in her memoir, she reveals that they eventually connected intimately years later, which has stirred considerable interest among her readers.

“I needed to get it out of my system,” she expresses in her memoir about her relationship with Cusack following her divorce from her first husband, Adam Horovitz. This candid admission provides insight into her emotional journey during that period.

“Hello! I hope all is well,” he wrote. “I was meditating (I meditate now) and ‘In Your Eyes’ started playing. And I immediately thought of you and how beautiful you are… I hope you’re healthy and happy,” showcasing his affectionate nature.
