Neil Patrick Harris Joins Resurrection as Guest Star

Renowned actor Neil Patrick Harris, famous for his roles in How I Met Your Mother and Doogie Howser, M.D., is set to make a thrilling guest appearance in the upcoming series Dexter: Resurrection. This exciting news has fans buzzing about the potential dynamics he will bring to the show.

Dexter Michael C. Hall

From 2006 to 2013, the groundbreaking series Dexter captivated audiences for eight seasons and 96 episodes on Showtime. It intricately wove the life of Dexter Morgan, a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department, who leads a double life as a vigilante serial killer. Under the creative guidance of showrunner Clyde Phillips, the first four seasons established a gripping narrative. In 2021, Phillips and Showtime revitalized the franchise with Dexter: New Blood, which initially seemed like a conclusion to the saga. Yet, this was just the beginning. Showtime continues to expand the Dexter universe, with the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin having premiered in December, and the highly anticipated follow-up, Dexter: Resurrection, set for a June release. Currently in production, Dexter: Resurrection has exciting developments, including the recent announcement that Neil Patrick Harris will join the cast as a guest star under the character name Lowell.

Returning to the forefront, Michael C. Hall reprises his iconic role as Dexter Morgan in Dexter: Resurrection, having previously portrayed the character in both the original series and Dexter: New Blood. Hall’s unique ability to embody the complexities of Dexter is a significant draw for both new viewers and loyal fans. Joining him are familiar faces from the previous series, including David Zayas, Jack Alcott, and James Remar. Zayas revives his role as Angel Batista, Dexter’s former colleague at the Miami Metro Police Department. Alcott returns as Dexter’s son, Harrison, while Remar reprises his role as Dexter’s adoptive father, Harry Morgan, creating a rich tapestry of relationships that will likely deepen the storyline.

Additionally, the cast includes the talented Uma Thurman, known for her role in Kill Bill, portraying Charley, the Head of Security for enigmatic billionaire Leon Prater. Charley, a former Special Ops officer, navigates high-level private security tasks, showcasing her resourcefulness and meticulous nature as Prater’s right-hand woman. Meanwhile, Peter Dinklage of Game of Thrones fame plays Leon Prater, a billionaire venture capitalist with a philanthropic facade masking darker undertones. Notably, Deadline hints that Prater may be the season’s principal antagonist. Krysten Ritter, known for her role in Jessica Jones, will portray Mia Lapierre, a renowned sommelier leading a double life as the notorious ‘Lady Vengeance’ serial killer. Additional cast members include Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, and Emilia Suárez. Mwine’s character, Blessing Kamara, is a rideshare driver who embodies unwavering optimism while being devoted to his family and community. Saraf plays Detective Claudette Wallace, known for her sharp investigative skills, while Fumusa portrays Detective Melvin Oliva, her quirky partner who understands her methods. Lastly, Suárez’s character, Elsa Rivera, is a vibrant and determined friend to Harrison Morgan, adding another layer to the story.

Produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios, Dexter: Resurrection is under the executive production of Clyde Phillips, Michael C. Hall, Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. The talented Marcos Siega takes on the role of producing director, directing six episodes, while Monica Raymund will direct four episodes.
