Orianthi Joins Alice Cooper 2025 Tour in Place of Nita Strauss

Alice Cooper is set to bring back a familiar face to the stage in early 2025: the talented former guitarist Orianthi. She will be stepping in for Cooper’s current guitarist, Nita Strauss, who has prior commitments that coincide with the upcoming shows.

Orianthi, the renowned Australian guitarist known for her exceptional skills, previously collaborated with the iconic Michael Jackson during the rehearsals for the This Is It concert series before his untimely passing. From January 31 to February 16, she will join Cooper for a series of performances, as Strauss will be occupied with her own obligations. Orianthi has a history with Cooper, having toured with him from 2011 to 2014, and will be joined on stage by other long-time collaborators, including Ryan Roxie and Tommy Henriksen.

“When Orianthi transitioned to focus on her solo career in 2014, we were fortunate to discover Nita,” Cooper expressed in a recent statement. “Over the last ten years, Nita, Chuck, and Tommy have embarked on their own musical journeys, and we always strive to synchronize our schedules to keep the band intact. However, this particular set of shows arose after Nita had already committed to another tour. I reached out to Orianthi, and luckily she was available to step back in, so we are all genuinely excited to perform these shows with her. I consider myself very fortunate to consistently collaborate with such incredible musicians.”

This isn’t the first instance where Cooper has had to alter his touring lineup on short notice. In 2022, Nita Strauss took a brief hiatus from Cooper’s band to tour with Demi Lovato, prompting the shock-rock legend to bring back his ’80s collaborator Kane Roberts, celebrated for his distinctive guitar style and imposing presence.

Cooper is expected to announce additional 2025 tour dates featuring Nita Strauss once she returns. He has already confirmed his participation at the Sonic Temple Festival in Columbus, Ohio, on May 9, and as an opening act for My Chemical Romance on August 15 at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
