Chris Hemsworth is grappling with the aftermath of a celebrity blunder that he might wish to erase from his memory.

The star of Avengers: Doomsday recently opened up about a particularly embarrassing encounter he had with Billie Eilish during the 2024 Oscars, a moment he regrets and hopes he could just erase.

“I took a picture with Billie Eilish at the Oscars,” Chris shared during a March 26 appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. “I distinctly remember thinking, ‘Oh no, don’t do it, don’t do it.’”

Despite his initial hesitation, the 41-year-old actor—who is a proud parent to daughter India, 12, and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, 11, with his wife Elsa Pataky—decided to seize the moment and take the selfie for a heartfelt reason.

“I thought, ‘No, my kids are going to absolutely love this,’” he continued. “The instant I snapped it, I realized I transitioned from being a work colleague to becoming a super fan.’”

The Thor actor humorously added, “We will never be friends, never be best friends.”

Although Chris and Billie’s potential friendship may not have the strength of Thor’s hammer, this awkward Oscars moment is not the first time he has admitted to taking pictures with other celebrities. In fact, he previously broke the infamous Met Gala rules last year by snapping “a ton of selfies.”
