Ozzy Osbourne Performs at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Rehearsal
Ozzy Osbourne’s potential return to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame stage may have been closer than many initially believed, showcasing his enduring connection to the music world. Inducted as a solo artist at the prestigious 2024 event, the iconic Prince of Darkness has faced significant health challenges that led to his retirement from touring. Nevertheless, Osbourne conveyed optimism about performing at the ceremony. In a recent appearance on the Shred with Shifty podcast, Wylde shared insights into how close Osbourne came to performing live. “Ozzy sang ‘Mama’ the day before, because Jelly Roll wasn’t there,” stated the guitarist, reflecting on the rehearsal session. “So at rehearsal, Ozzy sang it.” This revelation underscores the ongoing passion Osbourne has for his music and the stage, even amidst health setbacks.
When asked why Osbourne ultimately chose not to perform during the main event, Wylde expressed uncertainty, indicating that the plan was for various artists to pay tribute to the legendary rocker. “I don’t know,” he admitted. “I think it was supposed to be, everybody was supposed to do a tribute thing to the boss. You know, how like Kelly Clarkson was singing with Foreigner with Lou Graham. You know what I mean? But like, Kelly was mostly singing the whole thing and all that stuff.” This highlights the collaborative spirit of the event and the respect Osbourne commands among his peers.
