Palmer’s Future Hinted by Brian Dietzen in ‘NCIS’ Love Interest

Last night’s thrilling episode of NCIS showcased a gripping narrative centered around Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen). In a remarkable twist, he not only went undercover to solve the week’s case but also found himself entangled in a budding romance with his new neighbor, Wendy Hill. Wendy, portrayed by Erinn Hayes, shares an instant connection with Palmer in the episode titled “Close to Home.” However, their future together hangs in the balance due to the shocking turn of events where Wendy is wrongfully accused of being a murderer.

Palmer and Wendy’s complicated relationship might bring mixed feelings for fans who have been hoping to see the doctor reunite with Jessica Knight (Katrina Law). Although executive producer Steven D. Binder has hinted at potential developments, Palmer’s dynamic with Wendy adds a new layer to the story. Recently, Dietzen spoke with TV Insider, shedding light on the complex emotions his character navigates, especially concerning his unresolved feelings for Knight, even amidst his new attraction.

“I think he’s trying to figure it out. He’s attempting to manage his emotions, whether that involves using dating apps or meeting someone organically, but the reality is that Jessica, the person he knows he loves, is still right there at her desk every day. At the end of this episode, she reminds him, ‘We’re still family. That means something.’ This sentiment is especially significant for someone like Jimmy, who values family above all else. He faces an internal conflict: should he pursue this new relationship with Wendy, or is there still a chance to rekindle what he once had with Jessica? I certainly don’t have those answers yet.

Discover the Key Events in ‘NCIS’ Season 22, Episode 14

In the episode titled “Close to Home,” Palmer’s daughter Victoria (Elle Graper) inadvertently stumbles upon a bag of cash, leading the team to investigate further after her account of its discovery raises questions. The case unfolds back in Palmer’s neighborhood, prompting him to go undercover. He organizes a gathering for his neighbors to discreetly collect DNA samples from discarded cups. During this investigation, he meets Wendy, and sparks fly between them. However, the plot thickens when Wendy is initially suspected of being involved in the crime, only for it to be revealed that she is innocent, while her father is a notorious thief who has evaded capture.
