A tragic incident involving a plane crash has once again shaken the nation, occurring on U.S. soil.
An air ambulance met with disaster in Philadelphia at approximately 6:30 p.m. on January 31, shortly after taking off to reach Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri, as confirmed by the operating company in an official statement to NBC News.
Onboard the Learjet 55 were six individuals, which included a pediatric patient, her guardian, and four dedicated crew members, as reported by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance to the outlet. The young patient was returning to her home in Mexico after receiving critical ?life-saving treatment? in the United States, the company spokesperson shared with NBC10 Philadelphia.
“The treatment successfully completed, and she was ready to return home. We were contracted to ensure her safe journey back to Mexico,” explained the spokesperson. “The ultimate destination was Tijuana International Airport, where ground ambulance services were scheduled to take over upon landing.”
As of now, the exact number of fatalities remains uncertain, according to the city?s mayor Cherelle Parker, who addressed the media in a press conference, stating that ?several residences and vehicles were affected? when the aircraft crashed in proximity to Philadelphia?s Roosevelt Mall.
