Jesy Nelson Provides Heartfelt Updates on Her Journey Through Pregnancy with Boyfriend Zion Foster
The 33-year-old former member of Little Mix, Jesy Nelson, along with her 26-year-old musician partner, Zion Foster, shared an intimate video update on Wednesday (March 5). In this candid discussion, they opened up about the unexpected “complications” that have arisen during their pregnancy journey. This moment is particularly significant as they prepare to welcome identical twins, a joyful yet challenging experience that has tested their resilience.
As they navigate this complex situation, the couple is discovering the realities of expecting monozygotic twins. Jesy explained that their twins are classified as monochorionic, diamniotic (MCDA), meaning that while each baby has its own amniotic sac, they share a single placenta. This unique arrangement, as outlined by experts at Columbia University, adds an additional layer of complication to their pregnancy journey.
Jesy elaborated on the potential risks, explaining that “one baby might take all the nutrients” from the shared placenta, which could lead to dire consequences for both babies. “It’s really awful to say,” she admitted, “but this could lead to both babies dying.” This heartbreaking reality underscores the importance of vigilance and monitoring during their pregnancy.
Currently, Jesy finds herself in a pre-stage of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), a condition that requires her to be closely monitored. “I’m being scanned twice a week,” she noted, expressing her concern as she continues to face challenges with each visit. “The common situation that we’re in at the moment is that every time I’ve gone, it’s got a little bit worse,” she shared, highlighting the emotional weight of their circumstances.
Despite the difficulties, the couple remains hopeful and “are just hoping and praying for the best.” Jesy expressed their gratitude, saying, “We feel so blessed that we’ve been given twins.” However, she also shared her sadness regarding the complications that can accompany such a blessing, adding, “We honestly had no clue that this kind of thing [can happen] when you have twins.”
In a heartfelt plea, Jesy emphasized the need to raise awareness about these pregnancy complications, acknowledging that many people are unaware of the risks associated with twin pregnancies. “We just really wanna raise awareness about this because there’s so many people that don’t know about this,” she stated, underscoring the importance of sharing their experience.
“We feel it’s really important to share our journey with you guys and let [you] know what’s happening,” she added, expressing a desire to connect with others facing similar challenges. “But like I said, we are just hoping for the best, and we’re really fortunate that I am lucky enough to be scanned twice a week and we get to check on the babies.” This ongoing transparency allows followers to support them through this emotional journey.
The couple publicly announced their pregnancy in January 2025, and the news has since resonated with many fans. Stay tuned for more updates as Jesy and Zion navigate this remarkable yet daunting chapter of their lives.
