REO Speedwagon Final Show: Set List and Highlights

On Saturday, REO Speedwagon delivered an unforgettable farewell performance at the Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas, marking the end of a remarkable journey that spanned nearly six decades. Fans gathered to celebrate the band’s extensive legacy, filled with chart-topping hits and memorable moments. This final show not only showcased their musical prowess but also highlighted the deep connection between the band and their loyal supporters. The energy in the venue was palpable as the audience relived the magic of REO Speedwagon’s music one last time.

For those interested, the complete set list and videos from this historic performance can be found below, offering a glimpse into the band’s powerful and emotive closing act.

The evening opened with a vibrant rendition of their iconic 1980 album Hi Infidelity, which includes the beloved ballad “Keep on Loving You” and the popular track “Take It on the Run,” both of which have become staples of classic rock. The second half featured intimate acoustic versions of timeless hits such as “Music Man” from 1972 and “In My Dreams” from 1987, alongside classic tracks like “Keep Pushin’” and “Time for Me to Fly.” The concert culminated in a thrilling encore, where the band performed the emotional “Can’t Fight This Feeling” and the uplifting “Roll With the Changes,” with the participation of V.I.P. guests, including family members and crew, adding a heartfelt touch to the final chorus.

Lead singer Kevin Cronin expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the audience, REO’s dedicated associates, and former band members for their unwavering support throughout the years. He reflected on the bittersweet nature of the final concert, saying, “I feel sadness that this is the final REO Speedwagon concert, and at the same time, I feel grateful to have been part of this incredible ride.” He acknowledged the bond they shared as brothers on this musical journey and emphasized that while the REO Speedwagon name may be retired, the spirit and essence of their music will continue through him. “We hope you join us on that adventure. And now, let’s roll with the changes — what do you say?”

Kevin Cronin to Embark on a New Solo Journey Following REO Speedwagon’s Finale

The announcement of REO Speedwagon’s sudden tour hiatus in September came as a shock to fans, with the band citing “irreconcilable differences” related to bassist Bruce Hall’s delayed return after his back surgery in 2023. Hall had planned to join Cronin on stage, but unfortunately, that reunion did not materialize. Additionally, co-founding keyboardist Neal Doughty also stepped away from touring in the same year, leaving Cronin as the only classic-era member to continue performing.

In light of this transition, Cronin is set to take the band’s extensive catalog of hits on the road as a solo artist, supported by an accomplished group of musicians including guitarist Dave Amato, drummer Bryan Hitt, keyboardist Derek Hilland, and bassist Matt Bissonette. This talented ensemble was the same lineup that gracefully concluded REO Speedwagon’s touring legacy. They are slated to hit the stage next summer alongside iconic bands Styx and Don Felder for the highly anticipated Brotherhood of Rock tour, which will run from May through August, promising fans an exhilarating experience.

Despite the emotional weight of the band’s conclusion, Cronin recently shared with UCR that he finds it hard to accept the end of REO Speedwagon, stating, “The thought of REO Speedwagon coming to an end, it’s just unfathomable to me.” However, he also conveyed excitement for the future, expressing, “I’m not ready to call it quits. I feel like I’m surrounded by a great group of guys.” He emphasized the strong chemistry within the band and the quality of the music they are creating together, indicating his desire to keep this new chapter alive.
