It?s inspiring to see so many young girls who look up to you. How does that feel?
Each time feels like a new experience because the reaction is always unpredictable when you step out in front of a crowd. It?s a thrill to witness their excitement, and it reminds me of my own childhood dreams.
What?s it like being part of Chase and experiencing the All-Star Weekend in your hometown?
There are countless full-circle moments for me, especially since I?m from The Bay. Being part of such a significant global event is phenomenal. After our rehearsals this morning, it truly felt surreal. Participating in the Chase Cashback Courts is also a special moment for me because I had my first debit card with Chase. I opened it myself at the bank, and that experience holds a lot of meaning for me. This whole weekend feels like a dream come true.
I imagine your financial situation has changed quite a bit recently.
Absolutely! It?s definitely looking very different these days.
What can we expect from you musically in the near future?
My latest collaboration with OhGeesy just dropped, and I absolutely love working with artists from the West Coast. I recently spent some time in Africa, where I collaborated with ODUMODUBLVCK, allowing me to connect with different musical communities. This year, I envision expanding my international collaborations and reaching a broader audience with my music.
How was your experience working with LL COOL J?
It was such an incredible experience. Interestingly, my mom was featured in his video for ?Luv U Better.? I shared that with him, and it added a nostalgic twist to our collaboration. The entire experience felt like family, and I really appreciated being welcomed by such a legendary artist. It was a fun and memorable moment that I will cherish.
What about your throwback collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter? How did that happen?
Sabrina has always been a magical presence. During our collaboration, I was struck by her light, talent, and energy. Watching her flourish into a bigger star over the past year has been a joy, and I?m excited for what?s next for her.
Are you aware that you might be her only rapper collaborator?
Wow, I didn?t realize that! Kudos to her ? we definitely need to work together again in the future.
How did you manage to clear the sample from Jill Scott? Did you get a chance to chat with her?
Absolutely, Jill is such an iconic figure. The process took time, and I had to put in a lot of effort to make it happen. Now that we?re here, I?m grateful for the opportunity to create something unique. Her blessing means the world to me, and I cherish the collaboration we?ve achieved.
You had a brief appearance in BMF ? are there more acting roles in your future? What?s your dream role?
I?m definitely looking forward to more acting opportunities. I want to take on a role that involves action, perhaps something in the sci-fi or fantasy genre. Portraying a superhero or supervillain would be a thrilling challenge for me.
How many of your Saweetie meals did you enjoy at McDonald?s?
I honestly lost track! I?m thrilled that people enjoy my meal combinations. It?s been a fun experience sharing my culinary creativity.
What?s your favorite beat from Zaytoven?
My personal favorite is ?Expensive.? Although it hasn?t made it to streaming platforms yet, I fell in love with that beat and found it easy to write over. It holds a special place in my heart.
Why is your Instagram profile picture of Stewie Griffin giving the middle finger?
That image perfectly captures my playful and facetious mood. It?s my way of expressing my personality in a fun and light-hearted way.
What?s one song you can?t stop playing right now?
If you find yourself in my car when ?TV Off? comes on, be prepared for an impromptu performance! I turn up the volume, and it becomes a wild ride, so be sure to buckle up.
