The former Indiana teacher, Brittany Fortinberry, is facing a multitude of serious legal challenges after allegedly participating in a disturbing incident involving a gangbang with several underage individuals adorned in “Scream” masks. If convicted, she could face decades behind bars due to the severity of the charges against her.
Court documents reveal that prosecutors from Morgan County have escalated the situation by adding charges associated with five more alleged victims. This alarming development brings the total number of victims to six, all of whom have accused Brittany Fortinberry of an extensive array of sex crimes that could lead to significant prison time.

Prosecutors have indicated their intent to file an additional 24 felonies against Fortinberry, bringing the total to an astounding 29 charges, which include five counts of Level 1 child molestation. The county prosecutor, Steven P. Sonnega, confirmed that Fortinberry will be made aware of these new charges and the potential repercussions during an upcoming court hearing scheduled for April 3, where her legal fate will be further discussed.
In addition to the grave child molestation charges, Fortinberry is also contending with accusations of sexual misconduct with a minor, dissemination of matter harmful to minors, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Each of these charges carries significant legal implications that could lead to a lengthy prison sentence if she is found guilty.
According to Sonnega, if Fortinberry is convicted solely on the Level 1 child molestation charges, she could face an astonishing 20 to 40 years in prison for each count. Furthermore, if the judge decides to impose consecutive sentences, those five counts could result in a life sentence, effectively ensuring she remains incarcerated for the remainder of her life.
Moreover, the additional 24 charges consist of Level 4, 5, and 6 offenses, with potential sentences ranging from two to twelve years for Level 4 crimes, one to six years for Level 5 offenses, and up to two and a half years for Level 6 violations. This extensive range of charges paints a grim picture of her legal situation.
Sonnega has indicated that various legal factors will be taken into account when determining Fortinberry’s sentence if she’s ultimately found guilty. Given the nature of the allegations and the number of charges, it’s conceivable that a conviction could result in a life sentence, leaving her with little hope of rehabilitation or release.
As previously reported, Fortinberry is accused of sexually abusing multiple children by coercing them into participating in a gangbang while wearing masks inspired by the “Scream” franchise. These allegations have shocked the community and raised serious concerns about child safety and the protection of vulnerable individuals.
The presiding judge in this case has mandated that Fortinberry maintain a distance from the alleged victims, a ruling that should not pose a significant challenge given that she is currently incarcerated. This legal directive underscores the seriousness of the case and the necessity to protect the victims involved.
We attempted to reach out to Fortinberry’s attorney for a statement regarding the ongoing legal proceedings, but he declined to provide any comments at this time.
