On February 25, Sevendust will embark on an exciting journey alongside Three Days Grace and Disturbed for the highly anticipated The Sickness 25th Anniversary Tour. In a recent interview on Loudwire Nights on February 19, frontman Lajon Witherspoon shared his thoughts and excitement about the upcoming tour, diving deep into his experiences and aspirations.

“I have been eagerly anticipating this tour for quite some time,” Witherspoon expressed to host Chuck Armstrong.
“It’s incredible to come full circle and reunite with Disturbed, reminiscing about our younger days of touring together at festivals and enjoying each other’s company. It’s truly a remarkable experience. Plus, Three Days Grace has been making waves with their new track ‘Mayday,’ and the collaboration between the guys is simply fantastic.”
Witherspoon is also thrilled about performing at venues he?s never experienced before, specifically the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City.
“I can hardly believe it; this is a bucket list venue for me,” he exclaimed.
“Someone mentioned to me just yesterday that they were shocked we’ve never played at Madison Square Garden. I completely understand why; it’s definitely a milestone that?s going to be unforgettable.”
Sevendust’s Lajon Witherspoon Shares Exciting Plans for New Music
During the discussion, Chuck pointed out that it has been almost two years since the release of Sevendust’s latest album, Truth Killer, which caught Witherspoon off guard.
Fortunately, he has uplifting news for the band?s dedicated fans.
“We’re definitely working on new material,” he confirmed.
“It’s amusing that we’re talking about this right now. With everything going on?Morgan Rose and I are currently in the process of crafting a setlist for the Disturbed tour and our headlining shows?we’re also diving into the Sevendust music vault, sifting through around 20 songs to see which ones resonate with us.”
Witherspoon emphasized that their best creations emerge when they collaborate in person, surrounded by their instruments: “It?s reminiscent of the youthful energy we had when we first started. That’s where the magic truly happens.”
In addition to collaborating with his bandmates, Witherspoon is also pursuing his own solo project.
“I’ve been spending considerable time in Nashville lately, working with some incredibly talented musicians,” he shared.
“I’ve connected with several artists who have collaborated with Jelly Roll and other notable figures from the Nashville music scene. We?ve developed a fantastic working relationship, and I?ve even been invited to write with other artists, which opens up exciting possibilities.”

“I?m incredibly excited,” he told the Loudwire Nights audience.
