Slipknot Team Up With Legendary Video Game For New Masks

In a video posted yesterday (May 28) to YouTube, Atlus caught up with Jim Ojala, who’s been 1 of the mask makers for Slipknot for the previous 5 years. Ojala helped bring numerous of Slipknot’s previous appears to life, such as Clown’s metallic mask and Michael “Tortilla Man” Pfaff’s mask in 2019.

Ojala walks us by means of the building of what goes into his studio’s mask-generating. Atlus has tasked the crew with generating masks for 3 of the game’s demons: Daemon, Gurulu and Loup-Garou. Each of the styles look fairly prepared-created for the group, as they are all incredibly monstrous searching and would appear fairly strong as Slipknot masks.

There’s several actions involved, from generating the initial plaster casts to painting and de-molding. The completed items are genuinely exceptional, worthy of each the SMT franchise and the Slipknot name.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance tends to make total sense as a game that Slipknot would collaborate with. The original SMTV is not a stroll in the park, relying on players to believe tactically about how they method their builds. It’s genuinely for the hardcore, and it pushes the limit of how metal the character styles are.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance drops June 14.

Slipknot Video Game History

Slipknot themselves have had a extended history with video games. In 2022, they became playable characters in Smite, a preferred MOBA. In 2020, singer Corey Taylor dropped a mini wrestling game advertising his album CMFT, exactly where you could play as Taylor and beat the hell out of a variety of competitors.

Maybe this indicates the next Persona game will function a group of teen investigators who take place to be Slipknot fans? It’s difficult to say.
