The thrilling escapades of the Solar Opposites animated series have reached their conclusion, as Hulu has officially announced that season 6 will be the final chapter in this beloved comedy saga.

Hulu has recently confirmed that Solar Opposites will conclude with its sixth season, marking the end of an era for this animated comedy that has captured the hearts of many. The final season is set to premiere this fall, although an official release date has yet to be disclosed. Fans can expect a fitting closure to the series that has provided numerous laughs and unexpected twists throughout its run.
“Witness the wild chaos of this unhinged alien family as they get into hilarious mischief, all while the final chapter of an epic drama unfolds for the shrunken people they’ve imprisoned in their Wall,” reads the description for the concluding season. “As the ‘Solar Opposites’ navigate their unforgettable farewell, expect laugh-out-loud surprises at every turn.“
The storyline of Solar Opposites revolves around a quirky group of aliens who crash-land in the suburbs of America after narrowly escaping their exploding home planet. While they attempt to adapt to life on Earth, the alien characters—Korvo (originally voiced by Justin Roiland and now voiced by Dan Stevens), Terry (Thomas Middleditch), Jesse (Mary Mack), and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone)—must also safeguard Pupa, a sentient super-computer destined to evolve and terraform the Earth. The final season will feature an exciting lineup of guest stars, including Tiffany Haddish, Kieran Culkin, Christina Hendricks, Ken Marino, Alfred Molina, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, and Beck Bennett, adding even more star power to this beloved series.
While Solar Opposites may not have garnered the same massive fanbase as Rick & Morty, its absence will surely be felt. Personally, I found an undeniable charm in Solar Opposites that resonated with me even more than its more popular counterpart.
On the other hand, Rick & Morty continues to thrive and shows no signs of waning popularity. The show recently secured a significant renewal, ensuring that the iconic characters will continue their grand intergalactic adventures all the way to season 12. Despite the recent controversies surrounding the show, including the firing of co-creator Justin Roiland, Rick & Morty has successfully transitioned into its seventh season with new voice actors—Ian Cardoni as Rick and Harry Belden as Morty—resulting in a surprisingly seamless continuation. Co-creator Dan Harmon expresses confidence that fans are ready to embrace this new chapter, stating, “That’s my perception,” he said. “That the goal was accomplished or those that wanted it accomplished, that they’re like, ‘I can’t tell the difference. The characters are the characters, let’s move on.’ As far as I can tell, we’re past it. It worked, we transitioned to a new era and if the show sucks from here forward, it’s for the usual reasons any show can suck. Not because of these dramatic events.“
