Discover Finesse’s Sinister Ties to Norman Osborn in the ?Avengers Academy? Comics
Jeanne Foucalt made her debut in Avengers Academy #1, crafted by the talented pair of Christos Gage and Mike McKone. She was among six exceptional students meticulously trained by founding Avenger Hank Pym, with the goal of shaping the next generation of heroes. However, Pym’s true intentions for establishing the school were veiled, as he aimed to monitor these students who had endured severe emotional and psychological distress at the hands of Norman Osborn, famously known as the Green Goblin. Finesse stands out as the first student to uncover that Avengers Academy harbors dark secrets, prompting her to blackmail Quicksilver into offering her personal instruction. During this learning period, Finesse embarks on a quest to unearth the identity of the mercenary Taskmaster, who she suspects might be her father, especially given her uncanny ability to mimic his photographic reflexes. This quest, however, is complicated by her struggles to form friendships due to her cold demeanor.
While Finesse has her roots in Avengers Academy, she has recently aligned herself with organizations such as Advanced Idea Mechanics, following in the footsteps of her father, Taskmaster. Her unique abilities render her a formidable adversary; she possesses an extraordinary skill for interpreting body language, which has allowed her to master nearly every known martial art. Additionally, she functions as a living lie detector, capable of discerning the emotional states of individuals by keenly observing their facial expressions. This combination of skills makes Finesse an intriguing character within the Marvel Universe.

Within the storyline of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Peter Parker embarks on an internship at Oscorp Industries under the watchful eye of Norman Osborn (Colman Domingo). This internship serves as a cleverly disguised opportunity for Peter to continue his activities as Spider-Man, with Norman providing crucial support and advanced technology. However, Peter isn’t the sole intern at Oscorp; Jeanne also secures an internship, alongside fellow intern Amadeus Cho (Alexs Le)?who is also destined for heroism?and Asha (Erica Lutrell), a prodigy from the technologically advanced kingdom of Wakanda. True to her comic book roots, Jeanne displays remarkable observational skills and a refreshing bluntness that often catches others off guard. In the episode “Duel with the Devil,” she serendipitously encounters Peter in Osborn’s office, a location that should only be accessible to Peter, Norman, and his son Harry (Zeno Robinson), raising suspicions about her motives.
As tensions rise, Spidey engages in his inaugural showdown with Daredevil, who cryptically warns him of Norman’s hidden agendas. This secrecy revolves around a device capable of generating wormholes, which was developed using research conducted by Peter and his fellow interns. As the consequences of the wormhole generator unfold, resulting in the arrival of a symbiote on Earth, Oscorp’s reputation plummets, and Peter’s trust in Norman shatters. Prompted by his best friend Nico Minoru (Grace Song), Peter, along with Harry, decides to establish a new venture named the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, or W.E.B. for short. This name is a clever nod to a Spider-Man-themed attraction at Disneyland’s California Adventure park. Harry sends out invitations to former Oscorp interns, including Jeanne, who is now collaborating with Daredevil as his partner!
Jeanne’s true mission is revealed; she was dispatched by the Man without Fear to gather intelligence on Osborn.
