This action-packed film will also feature an impressive ensemble cast, including Julia Louis-Dreyfus from Veep portraying the enigmatic Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Additionally, David Harbour returns as Red Guardian, Sebastian Stan reprises his role as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, and Wyatt Russell joins the team as John Walker/ US Agent. Other notable cast members include Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, and Geraldine Viswanathan from Miracle Workers, among many others.
Thunderbolts is helmed by director Jake Schreier, with a screenplay crafted by Lee Sung Jin, based on an initial draft by Eric Pearson. Notably, Schreier and Jin previously collaborated on the acclaimed Netflix series Beef. This film will explore the dynamics within a team largely comprised of supervillains and antiheroes, offering a fresh perspective on what it means to be a hero in the Marvel universe. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has hinted that the asterisk at the end of the film’s title carries significant meaning, which will be unveiled after the film’s release.
