Tina Knowles Discusses Social Media After Jay-Z Allegations

Tina Knowles is clarifying her stance on social media interactions.

The 70-year-old matriarch of Beyoncé and Solange Knowles candidly discussed her presence on the Internet during her appearance on The Run-Through with Vogue podcast. This platform has allowed her to address the misconceptions surrounding her intentions and actions online.

“I see myself as a guardian for my children, and I believe that is my responsibility,” Tina articulated during the episode, particularly in response to critics of Beyoncé’s Christmas Day NFL halftime performance. Her protective nature stems from a deep love and commitment to her daughters’ reputations.

“My children often advise me, ‘Mama, just disregard those comments.’ However, there comes a tipping point where I feel compelled to respond. It’s incredibly difficult to witness untruths about my children circulating online,” she expressed, revealing the emotional toll of being a mother in the public eye.

Tina also humorously acknowledged that she sometimes inadvertently engages with negative content about her family.

“It’s amusing to think about how many times I’ve liked posts that are critical of my own children,” Tina remarked. This candid admission highlights the challenges of navigating social media, especially when she’s busy and comes across posts about Beyoncé and her collaborations.

“Fans often respond, ‘Miss Tina, please take that back because you liked something negative.’ It’s a reminder of how scrutinized our online actions can be,” she added, emphasizing the complexities of being a public figure.

Recently, some fans observed that Tina had liked posts related to allegations against her son-in-law, Jay-Z, and Sean “Diddy” Combs, concerning a serious incident from years ago. Jay-Z has strongly denied these accusations, adding a layer of sensitivity to the situation.

While she did not address these allegations directly during the podcast, Tina shared some valuable advice that Beyoncé’s husband has offered regarding her social media practices, particularly her use of voice-to-text for captions.

“I realize that the technology often misinterprets my words, leading to some amusing errors,” she explained. “My son-in-law, Jay, frequently reminds me, ‘If you’re going to critique someone, at least ensure your spelling is correct. Don’t overlook the basics, Ma. Take your time and proofread your messages!’”

Her granddaughter Blue Ivy has also been a voice of reason in her online endeavors.

“Occasionally, I receive a call from Blue who says, ‘Grandma, that’s really off-base what you just posted. You should delete that,’” Tina shared about her oldest granddaughter’s candid feedback. “I often respond, ‘Girl, I’m already moving on to the next thing.’ Meanwhile, the comments flood in, ‘There she goes again, Miss Tina.’”
