Tommy Vext Cancels Tour Dates with Important Statement

Tommy Vext has made the difficult decision to cancel several upcoming tour dates to prioritize his journey of healing and recovery. In a heartfelt statement, he elaborated on the reasons behind this choice, emphasizing the importance of mental well-being.

In a detailed social media post shared yesterday afternoon (November 25), the talented vocalist announced the cancellation of his Texas performances scheduled for this weekend in cities including Austin, Fort Worth (Dallas), Corpus Christi, and Houston. This decision comes as a necessary step for Vext as he navigates personal challenges.

While the shows in Texas have been canceled, Vext’s concert in Knoxville, Tennessee on November 27 remains on the calendar, and he plans to resume his tour on December 3 in Jefferson, Louisiana. Fans can check his official website for a comprehensive list of upcoming tour dates and updates.

In his statement, Vext shared the profound impact that recent family tragedies, including the loss of his father and other loved ones, have had on him. He expressed the emotional toll these events have taken, stating that he needs to dedicate time to address his mental health and personal well-being, which is essential in the face of such overwhelming grief.

Vext poignantly asked for understanding during this challenging time, stating, “Please show me some grace for now and allow me to return bigger and better than ever,” echoing sentiments once shared by a notable president.

Below is the complete post detailing his situation.

To whom it may concern,

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I regret to inform you that I will have to cancel the Texas shows in Dallas, Corpus Christi, Austin, and Houston next weekend. This decision is particularly disappointing for me, especially considering the ongoing series of events that also led to the cancellation of the east coast dates.

After experiencing the loss of my father and several family members this year, it has been incredibly challenging to maintain a sense of optimism and focus on my music career. Additionally, I have been dealing with the emotional aftermath of witnessing my former partner’s second violent suicide attempt in my home, which has compelled me to seek intensive therapy.

As men, we often dedicate so much of our energy to supporting others that we frequently overlook our own mental and spiritual health. This can lead to frustration and feelings of inadequacy as we grapple with situations that are often beyond our control and not our responsibility to fix.

Therefore, I believe this is the right moment for me to step back and prioritize my healing. I am confident that the coming months will inspire some of the best music I’ve ever created in my career. I kindly ask for your grace during this time, allowing me to return stronger and more vibrant than ever.
