When questioned about Iommi’s participation, Williams confirmed it enthusiastically, stating, “And Glenn Hughes! I wanted to create the album I’d pursue if I had left Take That now, with the wisdom I’ve gained. This particular song encapsulates that vision perfectly.” He humorously acknowledged the unexpected turn of pop songs appearing during the process, admitting, “I’m like: ‘Ah, fuck – a hit!’”
Regarding “Rocket,” Williams enthusiastically described it as a high-octane track characterized by “massive guitars.” He noted that it’s an adrenaline-fueled anthem that truly stands out, declaring, “That one in particular is my favorite song off my new album – which I’ve just announced is happening!”
How Will Liam Gallagher React to His Portrayal in Robbie Williams’ Biopic?
In the same enlightening interview, Williams revealed that Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher are featured in his biopic, which chronicles the iconic Britpop era and the intense rivalries among artists during that time. This inclusion adds an intriguing layer to the narrative, as it reflects the cultural landscape of the music scene.
Williams commented, “I think there’ll be a bit of [Liam] that’s happy he exists in it.” He reassured fans that every depiction in the film is grounded in truth, emphasizing, “There’s nothing there that isn’t 100 percent factual! That’s how he behaved!”
Reflecting on personal growth, Williams noted, “The people we were then are different from who we are now. I admire Liam and appreciate his evolving persona. He’s become kinder, more introspective, and still wonderfully humorous – yet some of the sharp edges have softened. The same can be said for me.”
He further elaborated, “In the movie, he represents who he was at that time, and I embody who I was then. I genuinely hope he enjoys it. The actor portraying Noel has just one line, but it’s so quintessentially Noel: ‘Fuck off, c––t!’”
