Oh, boy! Social media’s profanity watchdogs are bound to have a field day with the title of this highly anticipated comedy, The Shitheads. The film stars Dave Franco, O?Shea Jackson Jr., and Peter Dinklage, each bringing a unique flair to their roles. This unrestrained comedic venture is helmed by Macon Blair, who previously collaborated with Dinklage on the upcoming The Toxic Avenger reboot, set to hit theaters this August. With significant buzz surrounding it, The Shitheads is generating excitement as it prepares to make waves at the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin, where several major studios are vying for the opportunity to distribute this star-studded road trip film.

According to an exclusive report from Deadline, The Shitheads tells the story of cynical degenerate Mark (played by Franco) and bumbling idealist Davis (portrayed by Jackson Jr.), both having reached their lowest points in life. They are unexpectedly paired together by a dubious transport service for what initially appears to be a straightforward job: transporting a wealthy yet troubled teen named Sheridan to rehab. However, things quickly spiral out of control as Sheridan has her own agenda, transforming their simple road trip into a chaotic journey filled with drug-fueled escapades, perilous encounters, and criminal misadventures. As Mark and Davis grapple with their own shortcomings, they discover that the real journey lies not in the destination but rather in the shitty characters they meet along the way.

Macon Blair has been developing The Shitheads for some time, having initially envisioned a version back in 2017 featuring actors Luke Wilson and Tracy Morgan. This revamped iteration showcases three of Hollywood’s most sought-after talents, each of whom has exciting projects lined up for 2024. Franco is set to star in the horror film Together, while Jackson Jr. is gearing up for the action-packed sequel Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, and Dinklage is involved in the highly anticipated Wicked.
