Kandy Muse Reflects on the Unfiltered Experience of Being a Villain in Home of Villains
Striving to become America’s Ultimate Supervillain on Home of Villains is undoubtedly challenging. However, according to Kandy Muse, it pales in comparison to the high-stakes drama of lip-syncing for your life and showcasing runway looks on Drag Race. Muse emphasized that the competitive environment is less intense, allowing the contestants to engage in playful villainy without the life-or-death pressure often found in other drag competitions.
In a candid interview with TooFab after her unexpected banishment from the E! series, Kandy Muse reflected on her journey through Season 2 of Home of Villains. She compared her experiences on the show to her time competing on RuPaul’s Drag Race and Drag Race All Stars, revealing unique insights into the different dynamics and pressures faced by contestants in each format.

Kandy Muse Explains Why Home of Villains Provides a More Enjoyable Experience Than Drag Race
While living under one roof with fellow reality stars in Home of Villains might lack privacy, Kandy Muse insists that the overall experience is “more fun” and less stressful than competing on Drag Race. The camaraderie among the contestants creates an environment that, despite its competitive nature, allows for laughter and lighthearted moments that are often overshadowed by the pressures of traditional drag competitions.
“Oh my god. It’s so completely different,” Muse, 30, expressed. “In Home of Villains, we are filmed almost around the clock, with hidden cameras capturing our every move. Privacy is a rare commodity since we’re constantly monitored. In contrast, on Drag Race, our time on set is limited to specific hours, which creates a different kind of pressure to perform.”
“I would say this experience is a bit more enjoyable because, on Drag Race, the stress levels are through the roof. There’s an immense amount of work that goes into preparation, and the atmosphere can feel intense. In Home of Villains, even though the competitive spirit is present and one must always be on guard for potential betrayals, there is a playful campiness that makes it all the more entertaining. The drama is real, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously, which adds to the overall fun of reality television,” she elaborated.
When asked which contestant from the Drag Race universe she believes would thrive as a villain on Home of Villains, Muse confidently pointed to Gia Gunn.
“I think the next Drag Race queen who should definitely join Home of Villains is Gia Gunn,” she shared with TooFab. “For anyone who watched Gia on All Stars 4, you know she was a total force of chaos. She is fun, and I think she would bring an exciting energy to the house.”
“But you know what? I would love to see Kandy Muse return for Season 3!” she added enthusiastically.
Muse expressed that she would “absolutely” seize the opportunity to return to the show, similar to Tiffany “New York” Pollard, who made a triumphant return for Season 2 after her early elimination in Season 1.
“I feel so robbed of my opportunity,” Muse lamented. “I’m just saying, ‘Bring me back mid-season to shake things up!’”

Kandy Muse Opens Up About Jessie Godderz’s Betrayal and Her Unexpected Banishment
At the end of last week’s episode, Supervillain Jessie Godderz placed both Muse and Pollard on the Hit List, leading to a heated confrontation. In Thursday’s episode, the tension escalated as host Joel McHale shocked the remaining contestants — Wes Bergmann, Larsa Pippen, and Safaree — by announcing that the banishment vote was to happen within the hour.
While speaking with TooFab, Muse recalled her reaction to Godderz’s unexpected “betrayal,” admitting that she was not entirely shocked by his actions.
“It’s so funny because what they didn’t show you is that right before the Hit List nominations, I pulled Jessie aside to ask him, ‘Do you know what you’re going to do?’ I wanted to gauge his intentions,” she recalled. “He looked at me and said, after the previous night, he told me I wasn’t going up, and then he replied, ‘I don’t know what I’m gonna do. You have to see it from my perspective.’”
“In that moment, I already knew,” she continued. “I said, ‘Okay, you’re going to put me up. You’re going to betray me. You’re going to put me up.’”
Muse mentioned it “made sense” for Godderz to put New York on the list after she stirred some drama, while noting she had a feeling that the Big Brother alum would also target Bergmann due to the fake immunity letter he had created.

“[Godderz] was upset because he thought I was lying to him. Let me clarify: I did not lie to Jessie about the letter,” she continued. “I just didn’t tell him about the letter. That’s not lying. But once he said my name, in that moment… I was hurt because, one, I was betrayed. Yes, we were in an alliance, but we were real friends. So, in that moment, I felt that sting of betrayal.”
“I already knew that being on the Hit List meant I wasn’t coming back from that,” Muse stated. “I recognized that I was the biggest competitor in there, and everyone knew that if I made it to the end, I would win. So once they had the chance to eliminate me, they were going to take it.”
During the hour when Muse and Pollard attempted to rally the rest of the house to their side, Muse broke down in tears, realizing there was a significant chance she was being sent home. However, she wasn’t the only one affected, as Godderz also became emotional during the intense moment.
When TooFab asked Muse if she believed Godderz felt guilty about placing her on the list, she replied, “Here’s the thing. Jessie felt guilty as soon as we walked out of the Hit List nominations; he felt like an a–hole. He immediately regretted his decision and was crying.”
After McHale later announced that Muse was being sent home over Pollard — in a unanimous vote — Muse stated she “wasn’t shocked” and “wasn’t surprised,” pointing to earlier alliances and the dynamics of the Hit List votes.
“I already knew none of these people here were going to keep me around,” she shared. “I would have beaten them in the end. So it’s okay. I get it. It’s a power move. It’s a strategic play. Do what you need to do for your game. Sure, it sucks for me because I don’t want to leave, but ultimately, I understand. It’s a game.”

Kandy Muse Confidently Discusses Her Potential Victory Over Other Finalists
As Muse has previously stated, if she hadn’t been banished, she firmly believes she not only would have advanced to the finale but would have ultimately claimed victory in the competition.
She expressed her strong conviction that she would have secured the win and elaborated on her strategic gameplay. Muse noted that she consistently checked in on eliminated contestants to maintain rapport.
“Here’s the thing that people don’t know,” Muse explained. “Whenever someone was eliminated, I always made sure to reach out to them. I would text them or send them a message on Instagram, making sure they were okay and keeping that connection strong.”
“At the same time, I knew that if the finale was similar to Season 1, there would be a jury vote, and I wanted to have the jury on my side,” she continued, referring to how previously eliminated cast members return to vote for the next Ultimate Supervillain.
However, Muse mentioned that Wes Bergmann “caught wind” of her strategy. “Wes already knew my gameplay, and in that moment, he understood that if I made it to the finale, I would win the jury vote,” she told TooFab. “So he had to eliminate me.”
Kandy Muse Reflects on Strategic Decisions She Would Have Made Differently
When discussing her gameplay, Muse stated that if she had the chance to go back, she would have placed Wes on the Hit List.
“Oh, if I could go back, I would definitely put Wes on my Hit List for giving me that fake immunity letter,” she stated. “I believe if Wes had been on the Hit List, he would have definitely been eliminated, preventing him from interfering with my game and strategy moving forward.”
Despite her elimination, Muse emphasized that her experience on Home of Villains was ultimately positive and enriching.
“I made amazing friends. It was such a fun experience. It was so different from Drag Race. Even watching the show back, it’s just so entertaining,” she shared. “I genuinely formed some incredible friendships. We were all being so silly in the house, and filming the show was such a joy because
