Kip Winger has expressed that he remains open to the possibility of future performances with Winger, even as the band embarks on a series of farewell tours across the globe. He humorously remarked that he doesn’t want to end up on an extended farewell run similar to Kiss. In an interview with White Line Fever TV, he stated, “At some point I’m gonna play a final show with the band.” He added, “I don’t know when it is. That doesn’t mean I won’t do a cruise or something. I’m not saying this is our last show ever because… well, Kiss did it for 10 years, so…”

Winger is scheduled to perform a series of farewell concerts in Japan and Australia over the coming month, promoting these shows as “the first and final ever Australian tour featuring the original lineup.” In addition to these shows, the band will also make an appearance at Maryland’s M3 Rock Festival in May, sharing the stage with renowned artists like Sebastian Bach, David Lee Roth, and Ratt’s Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini.

While the iconic glam metal band is winding down their touring schedule, Kip admitted he has no definitive timeline for when or where the final Winger show will occur. “I do have some thoughts about it, but nothing’s completely worked out yet,” he shared. He also spoke about the potential for special guest appearances during their farewell performance, saying, “That would be cool. I thought about it, but it depends on the location, so I don’t know yet.”

Kip Winger has no intention of stepping away from music once Winger concludes its chapter, as he plans to continue his extensive exploration in the classical music realm. However, he did acknowledge that his life will undergo significant changes once the band ceases its touring activities.

“The most significant change is the traveling,” he explained. “When you do 40 gigs a year — and sometimes more than that — you often spend an equal amount of time traveling. Half of the year can feel like it’s spent waiting in airports, and it really takes a toll. We’re not a massive band, so we don’t have the luxury of flying on our own private jet. This often results in my personal goals getting lost somewhere in transit, like in an airport in Chicago. So my life will undoubtedly be different in that respect.”

The singer and bassist expressed no hesitation in putting Winger to rest following the release of their seventh and latest album, Seven, which has garnered favorable reviews in 2023. “I’ve made my final statement with the last Winger record,” he stated. “Many people consider it to be our best album, or at least on par with Pull. I brought back the original members, reinstated the original logo, and completed a full circle. There’s nothing else that Reb [Beach, guitarist] and I could create with Winger that wouldn’t just feel like, ‘Let’s do another one of those.’ Now, I’m embracing a new perspective where the possibilities are endless, and I have 30 more years to express myself in ways I haven’t yet explored.”
