Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has recently embraced an exciting new role as he prepares to star in the upcoming TV series Ghostman. As reported by Variety, the talented actor known for his role in Wonder Man is not only taking on the lead role but is also stepping into the producer’s shoes for the series.
In this thrilling series, which draws inspiration from the 2013 novel authored by the late Roger Hobbs, Abdul-Mateen will portray the enigmatic Ghostman, a skilled criminal with a unique ability to make things vanish. Following a disastrous casino heist, he has a mere 48 hours to rectify the situation, which involves a staggering amount of cash, while simultaneously evading a relentless killer determined to eliminate him. This project is part of a first-look agreement between Mateen and Sony Pictures Television, allowing him to star in and produce various TV projects through his production company, House Eleven10. This marks the second attempt to bring Ghostman to life on screen; in 2013, director Morten Tyldum was attached to a movie adaptation for Warner Bros., based on a screenplay by Peter Craig. Unfortunately, that film never progressed beyond development, paving the way for this new television adaptation. As of now, a release date for the series has yet to be confirmed.
