Yella Beezy Arrested Linked to MO3’s Death

Rapper Yella Beezy, hailing from Texas, has recently faced serious legal troubles following his arrest connected to the tragic 2020 shooting of fellow artist MO3. On Thursday, March 20, he was taken into custody and subsequently booked into the Dallas County Jail, as detailed in court records. The grand jury has charged Beezy, whose real name is Markies Conway, with felony murder regarding the death of MO3, claiming he was involved in a murder-for-hire scheme. The indictment alleges that Beezy hired Kewon White to execute the crime, promising financial compensation for the act. White is currently serving a nine-year sentence for firearm-related offenses linked to this incident.

Key Figures in the Yella Beezy and MO3 Case

Yella Beezy made a significant impact in the music industry with the release of his mixtape “Lite Work, Vol 2” in 2017. The standout track “That’s On Me” achieved remarkable success, climbing to number 56 on the Billboard Hot 100. His follow-up mixtape, “Ain’t No Goin Bacc,” released in 2018, featured a remixed version of “That’s On Me” with appearances from notable artists like 2 Chainz, T.I., and Boosie Badazz. A major highlight of Beezy’s career came in 2018 when he had the opportunity to open for Beyonce and Jay-Z during their “On The Run II Tour” at stops in Dallas and Houston, marking a significant milestone in his trajectory as an artist.

On the other hand, MO3 was also a prominent rapper from Dallas, who made his mark with his debut mixtape, “Shottaz,” released in 2014. However, his most recognized work came from the 2018 hit single “Errybody,” which was a collaboration with Boosie Badazz. Tragically, MO3 was only 28 years old at the time of his untimely death, cutting short a promising career in the music industry.

Timeline of the Shooting Incident Involving MO3

The tragic shooting of MO3 occurred on November 11, 2020, while he was driving along Interstate 35 in Dallas. During this time, another vehicle began pursuing him aggressively. As MO3 attempted to escape by exiting his vehicle and fleeing on foot, the assailant, later identified as Kewon White, also exited his car and chased him. Armed with a rifle, White shot at MO3 multiple times, resulting in serious injuries. A nearby pedestrian, caught in the crossfire, was also injured but fortunately survived with non-life-threatening injuries. Both individuals were rushed to a nearby Dallas hospital, but MO3 was pronounced dead upon arrival, marking a devastating loss for the community and his fans.

Further investigations by the grand jury have led to allegations that Beezy orchestrated the murder as part of a planned hit job. The indictment clearly states that, “Pursuant to said agreement, Kewon White did then and there intentionally and knowingly cause the death of (Noble) by shooting (him) with (a) firearm.” Currently, Yella Beezy remains in custody at the Dallas County Jail, with the bond yet to be determined as the legal proceedings unfold.
