On Thursday, April 2, Judge Paige Reese Whitaker dismissed the request put forth by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. The legal documents claimed that Thug had breached his probation terms due to a tweet shared on X, which raised concerns about his compliance with legal boundaries.

Prosecutors contended that the tweet in question, which featured a photo of DA Marissa Viverito, constituted a violation of his probation. According to the motion, Thug’s social media post exhibited a “blatant disregard for the law, the safety of witnesses, and the integrity of judicial proceedings,” as reported by Variety. The court had previously mandated that Viverito’s identity remain confidential during her testimony in a gang murder preliminary hearing. However, an unidentified blogger leaked the photo, which began circulating widely online. Subsequently, Thug reposted the image on his X account, which has an impressive following of over 6 million users.

The rapper’s tweet, which featured the provocative caption, “biggest liar in the DA office,” quickly went VIRAL, attracting millions of views before it was taken down. Despite the state’s claims, the presiding judge appeared to disagree with the motion’s assertions. Whitaker concluded that Thug’s social media activity did not breach any probation terms. While she clearly stated that there was no justification for revoking Young Thug’s probation, she recommended that the Atlanta artist should “exercise restraint regarding certain topics” in the future to avoid potential legal issues.

Young Thug’s Strong Denial of Any Wrongdoing in His Official Statement

On April 2, the acclaimed artist behind the hit ‘Lifestyle’ responded to the motion amid allegations that DA Viverito and her family were facing threats from his fans. In a statement released on X, he firmly stated, “I don’t make threats to people.”

“I’m a good person. I would never condone anyone threatening anyone or definitely participate in threatening anyone. I’m all about peace and love.”

This declaration came shortly after his legal team asserted that the state’s allegations against Thug were unfounded and did not meet the necessary legal criteria for revocation. Attorneys Keith Adams and Brian Steel emphasized that sharing a photo of someone on social media is not inherently illegal and should not be misconstrued as a violation of his probation.

Moreover, Adams argued that the court should not hold Thug accountable for the actions of others simply because he shared an image of Viverito, particularly since that photo had already been widely disseminated online before his post. Thug’s legal representatives maintain that “there is no violation of Mr. Williams’ probation by reposting an image on social media and asserting that Investigator Viverito is untruthful. While intimidation and threats of violence are never appropriate, Jeffrey Williams bears no responsibility for any alleged wrongdoing. We look forward to pursuing a dismissal of this petition,” Adams stated.
